At Q Engineering, we’re looking for a motivated Architectural Designer to work under senior engineers on design, analysis, and construction support—building real project experience while progressing toward your P.Eng. licensure.

Role Overview:

As an Architectural Designer, you will be responsible for developing and refining architectural concepts, drawings, and models for a variety of construction and design projects. You will work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to deliver designs that are functional, aesthetically strong, and structurally sound, while meeting all applicable codes and client requirements.

This role plays a key part in transforming creative concepts into practical, buildable solutions with a strong focus on technical accuracy and feasibility.

Key Responsibilities

    • Architectural Drafting & Modeling: Create detailed drawings, 3D models, and renderings using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar software.
    • Concept Development: Support the development of design concepts that balance aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability.
    • Code Compliance & Regulations: Ensure all designs comply with building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards.
    • Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Coordinate with structural engineers, contractors, and interior designers to align architectural and structural elements.
    • Material Selection & Specifications: Research and recommend appropriate materials, finishes, and construction methods.
    • Site Analysis & Planning: Conduct site assessments to evaluate constraints, environmental conditions, and project feasibility.
    • Client Presentations & Documentation: Prepare presentations, drawings, and reports for clients and stakeholders.
    • Project Coordination: Assist in managing timelines, reviewing design changes, and ensuring project milestones are met.
