Position Overview

Q Engineering is seeking a driven and industry-connected Business Development Consultant to support our growth initiatives across Ontario.

This is a performance-based independent contractor engagement, focused on identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities aligned with our structural engineering services.

This is not an employment position. The successful candidate will operate independently and be responsible for generating qualified opportunities, building strategic relationships, and expanding Q Engineering’s client network within the construction and development sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Opportunity Development

  • Identify and research potential clients across Ontario and Canada

  • Develop and qualify new business opportunities aligned with structural engineering services

Client Engagement

  • Generate and coordinate meetings with developers, contractors, architects, project managers, and institutional clients

  • Build and maintain long-term professional relationships

Industry Representation

  • Represent Q Engineering at networking events, industry functions, and approved exhibitions

Strategic Collaboration

  • Work closely with company leadership to align business development efforts with operational capacity

  • Support long-term account growth and strategic partnerships

Pipeline & Documentation

  • Maintain organized documentation of outreach activities

  • Track opportunity pipeline and meeting outcomes

Building Division Focus Areas

  • Industrial structural projects
  • Low-rise residential and commercial buildings
  • Mid-rise and high-rise building structures
  • Structural design support for new construction
  • Structural engineering for major renovations

Qualifications

  • Background in Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related building industry field
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering consulting environments
  • Established professional network within construction, development, or industrial sectors preferred
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated, performance-driven, and highly organized
  • Professional representation aligned with engineering industry standards

Compensation

This is a performance-based independent contractor opportunity.

Compensation details will be discussed with shortlisted candidates and will reflect measurable opportunity generation and contribution to secured projects.
